I’ve written about Ben twice before on this blog and the other day he put up a post on his Facebook page that will hopefully inspire you to go out and make the most of your week ahead!
For those who don’t know about Ben you can catch up on his stories by following the two links below - come back to this one though ;-)
1. Ben's motivational story.
2. Ben's back surgery update.
Over the last few months Ben has gone from being a member at Virgin Active in Solihull to working there and, most importantly, starting his career as a personal trainer.
It's an amazing place for him to be because 4 years ago he was in a motorbike accident that could have ended his life. It broke his back and left him in a situation where he had to choose to either become stronger, or give up on himself. That’s where his training came in, his relentless efforts in the gym helped to give him the life that he is living today.
It’s pretty easy to meet Ben today and assume that he is a fit guy who has fallen into his natural place by working in a gym, however I have been able to witness his relentless drive to push himself each day to be better than he was the day before.
Check out what he thinks in his own words.
I think the thing that has struck me about his words are that they are filled with humility. Support from others goes a long way, but ultimately he has been the one that has pushed himself through the tough times. He has developed his own resilience.
It’s pretty easy to get down on ourselves when times get tough. It’s pretty easy to look at a tough situation and give up on yourself. When you have those times, I’d like you to think about Ben and his story; realise that no matter how you might feel about things at the time, small steps in the right direction can get you to an amazing place in your life. You simply have to believe in yourself and keep moving.
I wish Ben every success in his progression into personal training and helping people reach their goals in life. I hope that you do too.
Have a great week ahead!
Stay Strong and Keep Moving!
