Happy New Year to you and welcome to the first Motivational Monday post of 2016! If you are new to the website then I hope that I can inspire and share things with you that will help to make each day a good day for you.
2015 for me was about developing resilience, being relentless in the pursuit of my goals. If you remember I wrote about goal setting a couple of weeks ago. One of my goals for 2015 was to help influence a positive change in 10 people, I am happy to say that I achieved it, but only through developing resilience and using it to drive my message forward. The reason I write two blog posts per week and I try to have a positive message out on social media every single day is simply because I spent a long long time hating myself and being miserable. It never got me anywhere! I made a promise to myself in 2013 when I started to lose weight, I promised myself to be a positive force in this world rather than a negative one. If I can make you smile or make you feel inspired or better about yourself today or any day then my job is done.
The one thing that I have learned about change (and this is going to sound amazingly boring) is that it takes time and dedication. It takes resilience! I have said this before and I'll keep saying it, you don't get anywhere by only doing something once, going to the gym once won't earn you a six pack, unless you pick one up from the bottle store on the way home. You have to keep going each and every day to make your world better because no one else will do it for you.
There is a lady who I trained with on Saturday called Claire Dunkley, I remember seeing Claire in a couple of treadmill classes a few months ago. Claire has one normal arm and another that finishes just below the elbow. She has been in the gym consistently working towards her goals and has been smashing ZUU training sessions, now if you have seen my Facebook videos on ZUU you'll know that it is hard enough with 4 limbs, let alone 3. Claire has developed resilience, she knows that she has to work towards her goals each day without fail in order to achieve them. She could easily sit back and use excuses, but she doesn't.
That is the same way you should live your life, if there is something that you want to achieve in 2016 then go out and get it. Develop resilience, be relentless, you have my full support! Just go out there, Stay Strong and Keep Moving, and most of all BE HAPPY all the way through 2016!
