I’d like to ask you a question today….
What do you see here?
If your answer is a Watermelon then you’d be correct! However, if you tuned into the blog post I wrote last Friday (click here) you’d know that perception is always down to the individual.
You may see a fruit, but I see my salvation. Not salivation, salvation…
You might also think that salvation is a strong word, but let me explain. Watermelon has contributed to saving my life; it made my relationship with food much more positive and continues to do so to this very day.
Have you ever thought about the reach that you have through your footprint on earth? Not the footprints on the ground but the footprint and influence you have in other people’s lives. I post a lot of pictures on Instagram and Facebook often there is a handstand or a watermelon or both. It has gotten to the point that people who don’t know me very well only really know that I love watermelons.
I have been sent countless links on Facebook and Instagram of watermelon videos, watermelon gadgets and anything to do with watermelons, simply because I eat a lot of watermelon and I am not scared to talk about it.
I am trying to show people that a relationship with good food can be fun; it can be positive…
Let’s put it this way, if the name of blog post today was, “10 reasons to eat watermelon everyday” followed by a picture of a watermelon, you’d probably be asleep before finishing the title. Also, who really wants to sit and think of 10 reasons to eat watermelon? Especially when you only need 1 - TO BE AS COOL AS ME!
On a more serious note, I have said that my mission in life is to make the world a happier and healthier place; that is the reason behind Raw Motion Fitness, I want to inspire people. The one way I know how to inspire people is to be enthusiastic about the things I love and share it with the people around me.
In truth I taught myself that if I fancied a ‘treat' or something to snack on then a healthy bit of fruit would nourish my body a lot more than a handful of crisps or a slab of chocolate. I fell in love with watermelon and my love for watermelon has reached many different people who have now engrained healthy habits into their lives as a result.
That is why I love watermelon; it reminds me of why I do what I do. It reminds me to be my own person and fight to spread positive vibes to people around the world.
Here’s a little challenge for you; whether you work in an office, a bar, or a health club the next time you have the chance to bring food in and share it around make the effort to share something healthy. I’d be interested to hear what happens!
A slightly different start to your Monday I’m sure, but possibly as refreshing as a nice watermelon! If this post wasn't enough to prove my love for watermelon you can watch the video below!
Have a great week ahead!
Stay Strong and Keep Eating Healthy!
