One of my all-time favourite movies is Joe Dirt, and for anyone that knows me might think I say that because of my sense of humour. However I like the movie for a few other reasons, yes toilet humour is always going to make me smile but more importantly Joe Dirt (David Spade's) attitude is the thing I admire most.
Joe gets treated poorly from a very young age when his family abandon him at the Grand Canyon; he was also set back in life as his mother had him wear a mullet hairstyle which he never changed. (You'll understand why if you watch the movie.) And it is safe to say mullets never looked good on anyone... This leaves him open to abuse throughout his life in the movie and everyone tells him that he is a white trash loser.
Despite all of the negativity Joe faces each day and the ridicule for some of his more stupid moments in the movie he has some classic sayings.... "Life's a garden. Dig it!" And "You just gotta keep on keeping on." He stays positive, focused on his goal of finding his parents and meets amazing people along the way; the most valuable thing is that he finds out what is important to him and that good things do happen to good people.
You can't really beat that for a feel good movie if you ask me. You also can't beat that for sound life coaching tips straight out of Hollywood - life truly is a garden and you have to put in the hard work to make it blossom. If you keep on going and never give up on yourself you'll see the results.
If you haven't been able to watch Prince Ea's latest motivational video then I suggest you click and watch it below. One of my favourite lines from the video is, "there is no such thing as a smooth mountain, if you wanna make it to the top then there are sharp ridges that must be stepped over." We just have to keep going!
So the big question is, what are you going to do today that ensures you never give up on your dreams?
Have a great weekend!
